Problem Solving Process

The problem solving process can be broken down into five easy to learn steps listed below. As an aide to remembering each step, The best way to obtain information or collect data about a problem is to observe people, procedures, and equipment.assign one problem solving step to each finger. Each time you need to solve a problem, go through the steps, finger by finger.

Collect information

The best way to obtain information or collect data about a problem is to observe people, procedures, and equipment. You can also interview people. For example, if an ice cream store always has long lines of customers, observe what’s happening behind the counter. Is the space adequate? Are enough servers available? Are their procedures efficient? Is the amount and type of equipment suitable for the job?
