Make Some Decisions

You will make decisions in every job. A decision may be simple, such as "What color paper should I use for printing?" Or it may be complicated, such as "How do I get along with this manager who is on my back no matter what I do?

Some jobs require life-and-death decisions. For example, child safety seat designers must decide which design will offer the best protection in an accident.

Every decision you make will have a result, or consequence. Every decision you make will have a result, or consequence.Once you make a decision and follow through with it, you will have to live with the consequence.

You should determine the consequence before you act. Perhaps an alternative decision with a different result is better.

For example, if you take off work on a Friday to go on a trip with your friends, your employer may be annoyed. After considering this consequence, you might decide to delay your trip until Saturday.

In Activity 2, you get to make the decisions.
